The website

This website (webchronicle.app) does not use analytics, tracking pixels, cookies, or third-party scripts.

The only thing stored in your browser is a theme preference (wc.preferences in localStorage) — it remembers whether you prefer light or dark mode. That’s it. It never leaves your device.

No accounts. No email collection. No newsletter signup forms.

The product

webChronicle itself runs entirely on your machine. When you scrape a website, it fetches pages from the internet just like a browser would — but the archives, snapshots, and indexes all stay local. Nothing is uploaded. Nothing is sent to us.

There is no telemetry, no crash reporting, no “phone home” feature in the core library. There won’t be.
